Open Heavens 10 December 2025 Wednesday – Hope of Glory

MEMORISE: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Colossians 1:27

READ: Psalms 126:1-6 Open Heavens 10 December 2025

1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Message: Open Heavens 10 December 2025 Wednesday Daily Devotional

Many people who are yet to surrender their lives to Christ think that they are enjoying life as they live in sin. For example, they think sleeping around is fun until they contract an incurable disease. A lot of them also think that it is okay to make money through any means, whether good or bad, until the wealth or possession they amass leads to their utter destruction.

Being in Christ and living according to His word helps believers to live a lifestyle that protects them from many troubles. Those who are in Christ have access to information that will always give them hope and keep them safe. Many unbelievers look like they are doing well judging by their lifestyle and appearance; however, in reality, they are suffering. Some of them cannot even sleep soundly because of the evil things they

have done. Being in Christ gives you peace and removes fears about the future from your heart. A life without Christ is a life with no hope.

Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 2:12: That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: It is because of Christ that believers are assured that no matter what challenges come their way, they will emerge victorious. Jesus said in John 16:33 that in this world, we will have tribulations, but we must be of good cheer because He has already overcome the world for us. Our hope is grounded in Godโ€™s promises and not just wishful thinking.

When you read Godโ€™s promises in the Scriptures, they will stir up hope in you. For example, in Hebrews 13:5, He promised to never leave you nor forsake you. This means that no matter what you are going through, God is right there beside you. In Romans 8:28, He said that all things will work together for your good if you love Him and are called according to His purpose. Therefore, if you are a lover of Christ and are walking in His purpose for your life, no matter the challenges you might be facing, you will laugh last.

Beloved, I want you to rest assured that God is thinking about you, and His thoughts towards you are of peace, and not of evil, to bring you to an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). I pray that you will always hold on to the hope of glory you have in Christ, in Jesus name.

Key Point – Open Heavens 10 December 2025

Outside Jesus, there is no true hope.

Open Heavens 10 December 2025 Wednesday Hymn

HYMN 10: IN CHRIST ALONE

1 In Christ alone my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My comforter, my all in all

Here in the love of Christ I stand

2 In Christ alone who took on flesh

Fullness of God in helpless babe

This gift of love and righteousness

Scorned by the ones He came to save

Till on that cross as Jesus died

The wrath of God was satisfied

For every sin on Him was laid

Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay

3 Light of the world by darkness slain

Then bursting forth in glorious day

Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory

Sinโ€™s curse has lost its grip on me

Open Heavens 10 December 2025 Wednesday Commentary

Praise the Lord.

Once again, our topic for today is hope of glory. And today’s study reveals to us that genuine life, genuine peace and genuine hope are only found in Christ Jesus. We are made to understand today that many people who are not yet surrendered to our Lord Jesus Christ think that they are enjoying life probably because they indulge in sin. They celebrate their lifestyles that appear pleasurable on the surface, but they carry hidden consequences beneath. Today’s study makes us understand that sin often advertises itself as fun, but its end is sorrow, fear, emptiness, and destruction. Yet those who walk with Christ discover that his teachings do not restrict our lives. It is not a form of punishment. His teachings instead preserve our lives. His commandments are not aimed at making us live boring lives. No, instead they protect our destinies. So as believers, we must never envy the unbeliever’s lifestyle. What appears glamorous from a distance is often filled with silent battles, sleepless nights, guilt, and fear. And only those who abide in Christ experience peace that passes understanding. In today’s study, we see the consequences of sin. That sin promises pleasure, but it delivers pain. The pleasure of sin is deceptive. Sin appeals to the flesh, but what it does is that it destroys the soul.

Many people today assume that they are enjoying life until the consequences come. Sin may begin as entertainment, but it never ends with joy. When you look at the story of Esau, you see how he sacrificed something of great value for what we can consider to be a plate of food and he lost the birthright forever. It is the same way today we see people indulge in immorality. People indulge in dishonesty, corruption and all forms of destructive habits. They believe that they are living life. But when the consequences appear, that illusion would disappear. always have at the back of your mind that the devil never shows the cost of sin upfront. This is why we must embrace the life of Christ because it protects us from visible and invisible dangers. It is true that walking with God gives us salvation. However, it does not end there. Do you know that walking with God also preserves our destinies? It preserves even our lives.

Beloved, God’s word provides boundaries that shields us from harm. His word is instruction to us that keeps us safe. What unbelievers often see as restrictions are actually divine protection for us from God, shielding us from evil and destruction. When God gave Noah an instruction, it looked strange. Yet Noah obeyed and entered the ark. and that obedience preserved his family. Many of those who thought they were enjoying life perished. But those who were inside the ark were safe even when the storm outside was raging. So beloved, God’s teaching is life. It protects our mind. It protects our health. It protects our relationships. It even protects our choices and our future. When we submit to God, we are not losing our freedom. We are gaining safety from him. Hallelujah. One other point our father and the lord makes us understand from today’s study is that the unbeliever appears happy but is often hurting inside. This is why we must not be deceived as believers by outward appearance.

Some unbelievers may look successful. They may look stylish. They may look confident. For a second you may be tempted to even want to envy them. However, we are reminded in today’s study that many of them are tormented internally. They may have money but lack peace. They may have influence but some cannot sleep. They may smile in public but many of them battle fears in private. The joy, the hope and the peace of a believer are not measured by the abundance of things that he or she possesses. As a matter of fact, a believer may not have much materially, yet his or her heart is full of peace because Christ dwells within them. This reveals to us expressly that peace is not the absence of problems. Beloved, peace is the presence of Christ in a man’s life. Without Jesus, the human heart remains restless and empty.

So always remember that a life without Christ is a life without true peace. No matter how successful it appears. One other lesson we can learn from today’s study is that in Christ every challenge becomes an opportunity for victory. There is no doubt that being in Christ does not exempt us from trouble but it guarantees our victory through every trouble. Jesus himself said that we will have tribulations. But he also said that we should rejoice because he has already overcome the world. Romans 8:28 assures us that all things, not some things, not most things. All things, it says, work together for our good. When we love God and walk in his purpose. So beloved, it is possible that you may be passing through some trials. You would come out victorious and your trials would become testimonies in the name of Jesus.

Never forget that Christ is the anchor of our hope and we rest upon his promises, not upon the circumstances that surround us. I would like us at this point to bow our heads and appreciate the Lord for the word we have heard. Say, “Father, thank you for speaking to us, for ministering to our hearts today. receive our thanks in the name of Jesus. Now ask the Lord today say Lord please help me to treasure the life I have in Christ above every earthly pleasure in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today say father guide my heart. Help me never to exchange this treasure I have for any temporary pleasure in the name of Jesus. Say father let this life I have in Christ be worth more than the whole world to me. Let me treasure it above every worldly gain in the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, strengthen my walk with you and protect me from the deception of sin in the name of Jesus.” We saw in today’s study how that sin is deceptive.

Say, “Father, may I never be consumed by the deception of sin in the name of Jesus. Let me never be taken away by the temporary pleasures of sin. Help me to always have my gaze fixed on you in the name of Jesus. strengthen my walk with you. Let me be grounded with you in the name of Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit today. Say, “Holy Spirit, fill my heart with peace and hope that cannot be shaken in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Holy Spirit today. Say, “Let my heart be anchored on you. Let my heart be stayed on you. Let my peace and my hope be found in you in the name of Jesus. Not in circumstances around me, not in the money in my pocket, not in the assets that I have, but in you in the name of Jesus. Be my source and my sustainer. In Jesus’ name we have prayed. Next would be saying, Lord, open my eyes to the promises in your word and help me stand on them daily in the name of Jesus.

Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, let your promises be my anchor. Let me draw strength from them. Let your word be the solid rock upon which I stand. Let every other thing in my life today, whether it be worldly possessions, worldly pleasures, achievements which are sinking sand in my life today, give way. Let there cease to be my assurance. Let my hope be in you and you alone. Let it be on your promises to me in the name of Jesus. Also ask the Lord today say, “Father, let my hope in Christ be my strength in every season of life in the name of Jesus.” As we move from one season to another, say, “Father, let my hope be anchored in you, help me to always look up to you through every season of my life in the name of Jesus. With every season, let me draw new strength. Let me receive fresh grace to look onto you and to push forward in the name of Jesus. Be the constant factor in my life. All other things may change, but help me to keep my gaze fixed on you in the name of Jesus.” begin to bless the name of the Lord and thank him for answers to prayers. Father, we worship you. Receive our thanks. In Jesus’ name we have prayed. Amen.
