10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 11 December 2025 Thursday Daily Devotional

Years ago, one of my children decided to buy a ticket for me to go on a cruise. For the first six days of the cruise, it was like heaven on earth; the sea was calm, the wind blew softly, and the skies were very clear, However, on the seventh day, a storm came. Believe me, you don’t want to be on the ocean when there is a storm. The ship was several stories high, but the waves kept tossing it up and down like paper. Everything on board was shaking, and objects were flying around. It was very terrible. Things got so bad that the captain called everyone on board together and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, don’t be worried. There are 12 categories of storms at sea. Category 1 is the mildest, while category 12 is the most turbulent- we are only caught in a category 10 storm.”

When I heard that, I became afraid. I turned to God and said, “God, what am I doing here in a category 10 storm? In my village, the biggest river is so small that an amateur swimmer can swim across it.” The captain continued, “Don’t worry, just go back to your cabins.” When I got to my cabin, I asked God, “Lord, what am I going to do now?” He replied, “Son, when I was on earth, and I was in a boat that was caught in a storm, what was I doing?” I responded, “Lord, You were sleeping.” I knew exactly what to do. I immediately jumped on the bed, and in minutes, I was fast asleep. By the time I woke up, we were already at the port, and everything was calm and peaceful. Anytime I tell this story, people ask me, “How could you sleep in such a situation?” I usually think to myself, “What else could I have done, jump into the ocean?” I didn’t even know how to swim; however, I had the kind of peace that only God gives. Also, if I had not learnt to hear God’s voice before the storm, I might have developed high blood pressure due to anxiety for nothing.

Beloved, if you are truly a child of God, then He is always with you. You can live a life free of anxiety if you spend quality time with Him daily because you will know His voice, and He will give you His peace – the peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Open Heavens 11 December 2025 Thursday Hymn

Hymn 19: Rock Of Ages Cleft for Me

1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee;

Let the water and the blood,

From Thy riven side which flowed,

Be of sin the double cure,

Save me from its guilt and power.

2 Not the labor of my hands

Can fulfill Thy lawโ€™s demands;

Could my zeal no respite know,

Could my tears forever flow,

All could never sin erase,

Thou must save, and save by grace.

3 Nothing in my hands I bring,

Simply to Thy cross I cling;

Naked, come to Thee for dress,

Helpless, look to Thee for grace:

Foul, I to the fountain fly,

Wash me, Savior, or I die.

4 While I draw this fleeting breath,

When mine eyes shall close in death,

When I soar to worlds unknown,

See Thee on Thy judgment throne,

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee.

Open Heavens 11 December 2025 Thursday Commentary

Praise the Lord.

Our topic for today once more is when God is with you. And in the body of today’s devotional, our father in the Lord says that years ago, one of my children decided to buy a ticket for me to go on a cruise. For the first 6 days of the cruise, it was like heaven on earth. The sea was calm, the winds blew softly, and the skies were very clear. However, on the seventh day, a storm came.

Believe me, you don’t want to be on the ocean when there is a storm. The ship was several stories high, but the waves kept toasting it up and down like paper. Everything on board was shaking and objects were flying around. It was very terrible. Things got so bad that the captain called everyone on board together and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, don’t be worried. There are 12 categories of storms at sea. Category 1 is the mildest, while category 12 is the most turbulent. We are only caught in a category 10 storm.” When I heard that, I became afraid. I turned to God and said, “God, what am I doing here in a category 10 storm? In my village, the biggest river is so small that an amateur swimmer can swim across it.” The captain continued, “Don’t worry. Just go back to your cabins.” When I got to my cabin, I asked God, “Lord, what am I going to do now?” He replied, “Son, when I was on earth and I was in a boat that was caught in a storm, what was I doing?” I responded, “Lord, you were sleeping.” I knew exactly what to do. I immediately jumped on the bed and in minutes I was fast asleep. By the time I woke up, we were already at the port and everything was calm and peaceful. Anytime I tell this story, people ask me, “How could you sleep in such a situation?” I usually think to myself, “What else could I have done? Jump into the ocean?” I didn’t even know how to swim.

However, I had the kind of peace that only God gives. Also, if I had not learned to hear God’s voice before the storm, I might have developed high blood pressure due to anxiety for nothing. Beloved, if you are truly a child of God, then he is always with you. You can live a life free of anxiety if you spend quality time with him daily because you will know his voice and he will give you his peace. The peace that passes all understanding. Philippians 4:7. God bless his word to us today in Jesus’ name. Amen. Praise the Lord.

Our topic for today once more is when God is with you. Beloved, we are made to understand from today’s study that for those who walk closely with God, there is available to them the peace that passes all understanding. In life, storms are inevitable. They come in different categories. Sometimes they come as financial storms or marital storms. Other times they could come as emotional storms, physical storms, and even spiritual storms. Some storms whisper while some others roar. Some shake the foundations of your plans. Others may threaten to overwhelm your heart with fear. Some storms could shake the very foundations of your faith. Yet, in the midst of every storm, our God offers his children peace that is so steady and so unexplainable. Peace that is so deep, the kind that remains unshaken even when everything around you trembles. You already know that peace is not the absence of trouble. Peace is the presence of God in a situation. It is not the product of perfect conditions. It is not the product of your plans well laid out. It is the fruit of divine communion with God.

Today, the Holy Spirit is teaching us that the secret to experiencing God’s peace in life’s storms is learning to hear his voice before the storm comes. We have some very beautiful lessons from today’s study, and I’d like us to consider them. One of the first lessons we learn is that storms are part of the journey of life, but God’s presence makes the difference. Beloved, the storms of life do not discriminate. Whether you are rich or poor, whether you are strong or weak, whether you are young or old, storms come to everyone. The difference between people who collapse in storms and those who remain unshaken is whose presence they carry. Think about the story of Daniel, for example, when he was in the lion’s den. Those lions were real. Have you ever imagined the danger that he was in? He was in real danger. I can imagine how long that night would have been in the lion’s den. Yet Daniel had peace. Why? Because he knew the God that was with him. The presence of God was right there with him. So, he had peace.

The presence of God turned a death sentence into a testimony. So you see beloved that storms cannot drown a man that is carrying God’s presence. Trouble can never overwhelm the one whom God accompanies. When you know God is with you, you can face anything calmly. I mentioned earlier also that you must learn to hear God’s voice before the storm comes. This is very true and the importance of it can never be overemphasized. It is dangerous to begin to learn how to hear God’s voice during a storm. You learn it before the storm. The reason why many experience anxiety is not because the storm is too strong, but because their communion with God is too weak. You remember the story of Samuel the prophet also when he was still a child. Before he became a prophet to nations, Samuel learned to recognize God’s voice in the quietness of the night. It was that early intimacy that he had with God that prepared him for the weighty responsibilities that would come later.

So, when the storms eventually came, he never panicked because he already knew the voice of the one who never fails. Beloved, a believer who hears God clearly will sleep when others are trembling. Storms lose their power over people who have learned the sound of God’s voice. Another thing we must have at the back of our minds is that the peace of God does not depend on circumstances. Beloved, today’s study reveals to us that God’s peace does not come from the situations that surround us. It comes in spite of them. Sometimes we are tempted to think that peace is the calmness of the environment around us. For we believers, our peace comes from the Lord. We can experience peace anywhere and at any time. Be it in a valley or in the storm. Be it in the fire or in the night seasons of life. Because the truth is that peace is not a place. Peace is a person. And we have the prince of peace on our own side. Hallelujah. No wonder Shedrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not panic when they were thrown into the fiery furnace.

Beloved, if Christ can stand with three young men in fire, then he can stand with you in your storm. His peace is what he gives to those who trust him deeply. It is important for us to also note that the peace of God is activated when we choose to trust him completely. Some believers today are still playing hide and seek. They are still having beside God option 1 2 3 and four. Just in case one flops, they want to switch to the other. But God does not work that way. He wants us to trust him wholeheartedly. It is important for us to know that peace does not come automatically. It is the product of trust. When your mind is fixed on fear, fear grows. When your mind is fixed on Christ, peace flows. Have you ever thought how Paul and Silas prayed and worshiped in prison? It was because they had the peace of God. Not because the situation or circumstance around them was okay.

We know what happened eventually. God stepped into their situation and they enjoyed miraculous release. We also learned from today’s study that to experience God’s peace, we must spend quality time with him daily. So beloved, you can see that there’s a direct connection between peace and your level of intimacy with God. So, we can say that peace is a fruit of intimacy with him. You cannot walk casually with God and expect supernatural peace. Peace grows where communion with God is consistent. When the presence of God becomes your atmosphere, peace becomes your lifestyle. So beloved, we are admonished in today’s study to walk closely with God because when we do so, we will sleep in situations where others panic. I would like us at this point to bow our heads and appreciate the Lord for his word which we have heard today. Say, “Father, we are grateful. Thank you for teaching us that we should trust you, that we should walk with you and we would enjoy peace.” Thank the Lord and appreciate him. Say, “Father, we are grateful in Jesus’ name.” Now ask the Lord today.

Say, “Father, deepen my ability to hear your voice daily in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, let my ears be opened to your voice. That as you speak to me in life’s situations, let me always hear you. Let me recognize your voice and let me heed your instructions in the name of Jesus. As you speak to me, oh Lord, let me not be deaf to your voice. Anything blocking my hearing today in the name of Jesus, I declare it opened.” Tell the Lord today say Lord let your voice be clear and distinct in my ears in the name of Jesus. Now ask the Lord today say Lord fill my heart with your peace that passes all understanding in Jesus’ name. Maybe you are passing through various kinds of storms at the moment. You can ask the Lord today say father let me enjoy your peace even in this situation in the name of Jesus. Fill my heart with your peace. Let my heart overflow with your peace that passes all understanding. Let me enjoy your peace like a river. Let it overflow my heart. Let it drown my heart, oh Lord, in the name of Jesus.

Also ask the Holy Spirit today. Say, “Holy Spirit, deliver me from every form of anxiety and fear in the name of Jesus. What is that thing that is threatening my peace? What is that situation that is planting fear and anxiety in my heart?” Say, “Holy Spirit of God, please address it today in the name of Jesus. Let there be deliverance for me from every element of fear in my heart. Let fear give way to faith. Let anxiety give way to the boldness that comes from you in the name of Jesus.” Also ask the Lord today, Lord, teach me to trust you completely in every storm of life in Jesus name. My dear father and God, I am asking today that you would help me, teach me to lay all of my burdens at your feet to never worry for anything in the name of Jesus to trust you that you are more than able to come through for me in the name of Jesus.

Ask the Lord today for the grace to resist the temptation to try to help him in our situations, the temptation to have alternative plans beside him. Ask the Lord today for the grace to trust him and him alone in all things and through all things in the name of Jesus. Lastly, ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, let your presence be my shelter and my peace in all situations in the name of Jesus.” Ask the Lord today. Say, “Father, let your presence go with me in everywhere I go, everything I do. Let me enjoy your presence like your presence was with Moses. Like you were with Shedrach, Meshach, and Abednego. like you are with Daniel in the lion’s den. Father, let me enjoy your presence in the name of Jesus. Let your presence be my shelter. Let it be my running and my hiding place in the name of Jesus. Let me enjoy your peace in every situation of my life in Jesusโ€™ name. Begin to bless the name of the Lord and thank him for answers to prayers. Just worship him and give him thanks. Father, we honor and adore you. In Jesus’ name we have prayed.

Amen.
