3 Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying,

4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?

5 Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.

6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.

8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord.

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 15 July 2026 Wednesday Daily Devotional

Today, I will discuss material burdens as another category of burdens. The devil seeks to put material burdens on people because he knows that when someone is living in poverty, it will be easier for him or he to fall into temptations.

The widow of Zaronknat and her son watched their material food supplies deplete daily until they had only one meal left to make matters worse; a severe famine had struck the land, everything was dry, and they had no hope of finding another meal. Therefore, they resolved to eat the only meal that was left and prepare for death. However, the Burden Bearer stepped into their situation and turned things around such that what wasn’t enough became sufficient to sustain them throughout the famine (1 Kings 17:7-16). I pray that the Almighty God will deliver you from any material burden that may be in your life, in Jesus’ name.

There was once a very wealthy man who had a quarrel with his wife. As the quarrel got heated, she told him that by the time she was finished with him, he would travel everywhere within Lagos on foot. The man laughed because at the time, he had 14 cars. Unfortunately, however, things began to go downhill for him, and at one point, he had one car left and 50 kobo in his pocket. Then he began to think to himself, “If I use the 50 kobo with me to fuel my car, I will have nothing to eat.

However, if l buy food, I will have to walk everywhere need to go, just as my wife had said.” That was when he came to Jesus Christ, and Jesus took over his situation. When he shared the testimony of his turnaround, he was dedicating two new houses at once.

In today’s Bible reading, Haggai rebuked the Israelites for abandoning God’s house and living just for themselves. He told them that they were experiencing a lack ot material resources as a result. The people sowed much but reaped little, and the little they earned wasted away.

Beloved, if you want to experience material prosperity, seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness wholeheartedly. Mind His business, and He will ensure that you live in material abundance all the days of your life. If you have lost any material thing, turn to God today, and He will restore it to you, just as He promised in today memory verse.

Prayer Points for Open Heavens 15 July 2026 – Deliverance From Material Burdens

1. Father, I thank You for the promise of restoration. Thank You that You are able to restore the years that the locust, cankerworm, caterpillar, and palmerworm have eaten in my life, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have prioritized my comfort over Your work, neglected Your house, and focused only on my material needs, in Jesus’ name.

3. Father, I bring all my material burdens to You today—debts, lack, poverty, and financial struggles. Please lift them from my shoulders and provide for me according to Your riches in glory, in Jesus’ name.

4. Lord, just as You delivered the widow of Zarephath from famine and turned her last meal into a never-ending supply, I pray that You will turn every lack in my life into supernatural abundance, in Jesus’ name.

5. Father, I repent of every way I have been living only for myself. Help me to prioritize Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and let every material need be added to me, in Jesus’ name.

6. Lord, I ask that You will turn around every financial downturn in my life and restore me to even greater prosperity, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, according to Haggai 1:6, I reject every bag with holes that causes my earnings to waste away. Let my labor yield lasting fruit, and let my resources be preserved and multiplied, in Jesus’ name.

8. Lord, I receive Your promise to restore the years that the enemy has stolen. Let every lost opportunity, every wasted resource, and every drained account be supernaturally restored, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, help me to build Your house and bring glory to Your name. As I seek You first, let every material need be met, and let me be a testimony of Your provision, in Jesus’ name.

10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific financial debts, material losses, or sources of lack you are facing, and ask God to deliver you and restore you).

11. Thank You, Father, for the assurance that You are the Burden Bearer who carries my material burdens and provides for me abundantly. I receive my deliverance today, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
