BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 47-48

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 18 August 2026 Tuesday Daily Devotional

The devil often uses the promise of promotion to lure people into making covenants with him. For example, I have heard of cases where those in authority would ask someone due for a promotion at work to enter into an evil covenant by joining a secret cult before the promotion is granted. Beloved, if you ever find yourself in such an ordeal, I urge you never to enter into such covenants.

Today’s Bible reading tells us that promotion comes from God. When He says yes, nobody can say no. When God decides to promote you, it doesn’t matter what anybody may try because you will reach the position that He intends. He controls the heart of kings; therefore, if anyone in authority threatens you, saying, “You will not be promoted unless you join us,” take your stand as a child of God, and never give in. Just hold on to God, and in the end, you will emerge victorious.

Sometime ago, one of my spiritual sons came to me and said, “Daddy, I am tired of being in one spot for so long: I want to move forward. I have an interview tomorrow, please pray for me.” I replied, “Let us pray,” and he said, “No! Just speak a word.” Then I told him that the interview would be successful. He went for the interview and came back beaming with joy. He said, “Daddy, I prepared hard for the interview, but they only asked me three questions: What is your name? Which post did you apply for? When do you want to start?” I congratulated him, and he said, “Daddy, please speak another word.” I obliged and responded, “Your promotion will be rapid.” The next day, He came back dancing for joy. He said, “When I resumed this morning, I was asked to go to the boardroom. The people who interviewed me the previous day were seated there, and they said, ‘Our Managing Director resigned yesterday. Are you ready to take on the post?” I replied, “Congratulations, that’s a rapid promotion.” He told me to speak another word, and I said that God would complete the good work He had started in him.

The next day, he came back to me almost speechless as his salary had been doubled! Then he said I should speak another word, and | jokingly responded, “Do you want to collect the company from the owners?”

Beloved, I pray that my Father will surprise you with rapid promotions, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heavens 18 August 2026 Tuesday Hymn

Hymn 20: I’m Pressing on The Upward Way

1 I’m pressing on the upward way,

New heights I’m gaining every day;

Still praying as I onward bound,

“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

2 Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

3 My heart has no desire to stay

Where doubts arise and fears dismay;

Though some may dwell where these abound,

My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

4 I want to live above the world,

Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;

For faith has caught the joyful sound,

The song of saints on higher ground.

I want to scale the utmost height

And catch a gleam of glory bright;

But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,

“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”

Prayer Points for Open Heavens 18 August 2026 – God’s Covenant Of Promotion

1. Father, I thank You for being the source of all promotion and for the promise that You set up one and put down another. Thank You for the authority You have over every position and leadership, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have been tempted to compromise my faith, join ungodly associations, or enter into evil covenants for the sake of promotion, in Jesus’ name.

3. Father, I receive the grace to trust in You alone for my promotion, knowing that it comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south, but from You, in Jesus’ name.

4. Lord, I pray that You will exalt my horn like the horn of a unicorn, and anoint me with fresh oil. Let me experience rapid promotion in my career, ministry, and every area of my life, in Jesus’ name.

5. Father, I reject every plan of the enemy to keep me stagnant or limit my progress. Let every mountain of opposition be removed, and let me be set on high, in Jesus’ name.

6. Lord, just as You granted the author’s spiritual son a rapid promotion, I ask for supernatural acceleration in my life. Let doors open for me that no man can shut, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, I declare that when God says yes, nobody can say no. I receive Your favor before kings, leaders, and decision-makers, and let them recognize Your hand upon my life, in Jesus’ name.

8. Lord, I pray for every believer who is being pressured to join evil covenants for promotion. Strengthen them and give them the boldness to stand firm, trusting in You alone, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, I receive the grace to fulfill the terms of Your covenant so that I can enjoy the promotion that comes from being Your child, in Jesus’ name.

10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific areas where you desire promotion—career, ministry, academics, business—and ask God for His divine intervention).

11. Thank You, Father, for the assurance that nothing and no one can limit me when You have decided to promote me. I receive Your promotion today, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
