32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.


36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.


37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?


38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.


39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.


40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.


41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.


42 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.


43 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.


44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.


45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.


46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.


47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.


48 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?


49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 28 August 2026 Friday Daily Devotional

Yesterday, I mentioned that you should recharge your spiritual energy whenever you feel a hunger in your spirit. This is very important; however, you should also continue to refuel your spiritual energy even when you don’t feel a spiritual hunger so that you can be prepared ahead of any emergency.

This is what I refer to as ‘extra oil.’ Extra oil is the reservoir of prayers and fasting that you have previously done and the Bible verses you have memorised that will come in handy when you are suddenly faced with a challenge. That is why you should always pray, fast, and study the word of God more than you think is necessary, because on days when you need a quick spiritual surge of power, it is from the reservoir that you have built that you will quickly recharge your energy.

For example, temptations can arise on a day when you are not fully charged, and you will need strength to resist them. It is from your extra oil that the strength will come. Likewise, if danger suddenly shows up or disaster strikes, you will need to switch to a war mode quickly, and that can only happen when you have a reservoir of oil in you. In such moments, you can start by speaking in tongues. As you speak in tongues, you will draw from the extra oil in your reservoir, and before long, you will feel a surge of power, and then you will be able to solve the problem at hand. However, nothing will happen if there is no extra oil in your reservoir, even if you speak vehemently in tongues when facing a disaster.

Child of God, nobody prepares for war on a battlefield. Oftentimes, commanders and soldiers plan their battle strategies long before wars break out.

In Matthew 26:36-44, the Bible recounts how Jesus spent time praying earnestly in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was arrested. While He prayed, His disciples slept; therefore, when challenges arose, they had no extra oil to draw from, so they fled. Peter denied Jesus, and all the other disciples fainted on the day of adversity because their strength was small (Proverbs 24:10).

Beloved, pray more than you think is necessary before the day of adversity comes. Prayer is never a waste. Speak in tongues often, and spend ample time in God’s presence so that when the day of adversity comes, you will have more than enough extra oil to draw strength from.

Prayer Point:
Father, please help me to immerse myself in prayer and give myself to the study of Your word daily.

Prayer Points For Open Heavens 28 August 2026 – Refuel, Recharge, Reload II

1. Father, I thank You for the gift of prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You for the grace to build up my spiritual reservoir through prayer and Your word, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have neglected my prayer life, failed to build extra oil, and found myself weak in the day of adversity, in Jesus’ name.

3. Father, help me to pray more than I think is necessary, to fast beyond what seems reasonable, and to study Your word diligently, so that I will have a rich reservoir of spiritual strength, in Jesus’ name.

4. Lord, I receive the grace to speak in tongues often, to draw from the extra oil in my reservoir when sudden challenges arise, in Jesus’ name.

5. Father, I pray against the spirit of sleepiness and lethargy that kept the disciples from praying in Gethsemane. Let me not be caught unprepared when trials come, in Jesus’ name.

6. Lord, help me to build myself up on my most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Let my prayers be effectual and fervent, availing much, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, I pray that when the day of adversity comes, my strength will not be small. Let me stand firm and not faint, drawing from the extra oil I have stored up, in Jesus’ name.

8. Lord, I pray for every believer who has been sleeping when they ought to be praying. Wake them up and give them a hunger for prayer and Your word, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, I receive the grace to be like Jesus, who prayed earnestly before the battle. Let me be fully prepared for every trial and temptation that comes my way, in Jesus’ name.

10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific areas where you need to build more spiritual reserves, and ask God for discipline in prayer, fasting, and studying His word).

11. Thank You, Father, for the assurance that when I have extra oil, I will not be caught unprepared. I receive grace to pray without ceasing and to store up spiritual strength for every season, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
